Curious how to get to the boogie? There are several ways...
First, spectators and tandem jumpers! If driving north from town on Nelson Ave, you will see a sign on the left for "Skydiver Entrance". This is NOT your entrance. Continue driving north to the next entrance to the airport. There is free parking available, but at-will-donations will be accepted to help cover expenses. This will be open Thursday-Monday.
Early Arrivals!!! (all skydivers arriving before gates open) NEW PARKING FOR 2011 Gates to the boogie grounds do not open till NOON on WEDNESDAY. If we open the gates earlier, you will find out on this page first. If you arrive on Tuesday night, please follow the parking instructions below. We are parking in the campgrounds from here on out so there are no highway injuries.

SAFETY INFO AND REMINDERS: Follow directions provided by staff DO NOT PARK ON 15th/NELSON AVE!!!! Do not block entrances/driveways into the military ops area Do not wander onto highway! Look both ways before crossing highway.
Skydivers! In case you didn't know, you're headed to the Fort Dodge Regional Airport in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The airport's website can provide you a lot of information, including; airlines, general aviation, frequencies, and such.
If coming from out of town, you have several options...
Fly Commercially directly to KFOD Delta and Northwest have commuter planes that are in and out of KFOD daily. If you plan to do this, please discuss your needs with the ramp agent so that you can be properly escorted from the terminal to the boogie grounds.
Fly into KFOD with your own airplane Plenty of tie down space is available! Use aopa.org or whatever means you like for pre-flight planning and NOTAM information. Be aware there is increased activity in the Crypt South MOA (13NM SW of KFOD) on Sept 1-4, please plan accordingly. Also... - Runway 12/30 will be closed to all traffic except skydiving aircraft. - Please circumnavigate the airport by at least 3 miles. - Landing: 3-mile straight in final to land on either runway 6 or 24. - Departure: 3-mile straight departure on runway 6 or 24 before turning. - DO NOT OVERFLY THE AIRPORT - DO NOT PERFORM TOUCH AND GOs. - Use CTAF 123.00
Driving Go to Google Maps and plug in KFOD. Duh! You will want to approach the airport from the south on HW413/Nelson Ave. Before the main airport entrance, you will see a big sign on your left that says "Skydiver Entrance". This is your place to turn!
Fly Commercially into KDSM Will necessitate getting a rental car or hitchhiking, do so at your own risk. Flying into KFOD directly is WAY better!!!
